Washington State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program

"Because Dignity and Quality of Life are Rights"

Get Involved and Stay Informed - Let Your Voice Be Heard

Louise Ryan - State Ombudsman
We understand that not everyone can donate time and/or money to support a particular cause or organization. However, you can make a difference in improving conditions for residents living in long term care facilities through your political involvement.

We encourage you to participate in passing legislation that improves the quality of life and care for all residents in long term care facilities. As advocates ourselves, we also encourage you to support advocacy groups and initiatives that seek to protect residents' rights and promote the well being of residents.

If you deside to get involved, our Washington State Ombudsman Louise Ryan, will keep you informed by email of current legislative issues being considered by the State of Washington. Once you are informed, you can help residents by simply emailing or calling your state legislator and communicating the needs of residents in long term care facilities.
