Washington State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program

"Because Dignity and Quality of Life are Rights"

About the Washington State Ombudsman
The Multi-Service Center is a private nonprofit community act agency that has been providing emergency and support services to individuals and families living poverty throughout King County since 1971.

On July 1, 1989, the South King County Multi-Service Center was given the responsibility to administer the State Ombudsman Program through a contract with the Department of Community Trade and Economic Development (CTED).The Department of Community Trade Economic Development holds the contract and awards the funding to the Multi-Service Center. The MSC, in turn, sub-contracts with 13 regional offices to carry out the duties of the state ombudsman at the local level. The regional ombudsmen have the duties similar to the state ombudsman and represent the state office and ombudsman.

The Multi-Service Center is recognized as a comprehensive resource for people in need. To support customer-directed development, MSC works in partnership with groups and communities throughout its service area to maximize resources. With respectful physical and emotional support, MSC assists customers in establishing goals and learning the critical thinking skills necessary to achieve self-sufficiency.

The Multi-Service Center's innovative and integrated efforts enhance the quality of life in south King County and for residents of long term care facilities throughout the state.
